I'm sure this subject might have come up before, but i m new here and this problem is quite frustating.
I recently got my xp connected with a bsnl 256 mbps (supposedly) internet connection. Against the advice of my engineer, who said i should use win98 , and not XP for browsing, i went ahead and browsed on XP.
Now , i switched off the "automatic updates" in my options, but even then XP has this bad habit of chatting with msn online, and it updates , whether you like it or not. (I had Service pack 2 installed . )
Then it restarts and BOOM, XP boots, then goes off , boots- off, boots-off.
If anyone knows the solution to this, PLEASE reply.
Fact is XP Does make for better browsing option than 98. Talk of the proverbial apple!
