hi,
i have xfx 8600gt graphics card which i got around 1 and 1/2yrs back.recently i checked my gpu temp and it was showing 67c at idle and went upto 92c while gaming.
i am running p4 on 915mobo with 2gb ddr ram,also have an extra fan at the rear end below smps.
so do you think these temps are normal.what should i do to reduce the temp or is there a problem with the card and i should get it changed as it is still in warranty.
no was overclocking done .system is stable but i am worried if such high temps can damage my card.i have heard that xfx cards have temp problems if this is correct should i get it replaced.
software used for temp monitorind were speedfan,ntune,gpuz they all reported the same.
help please.
thanks.

dont change anything. .keep the card as it is. its not a problem with the SMPS. not much point hunting around for a replacement now.

@pulkit,
See, unless and untill u plan for O/C'ing ur PC, u dont need new SMPS. However, even if u want, spend a bit more and go for Corsair TX/HS or CM RealPower series. Anyone of 450W - 550W would be sufficient considering future usage.
And nope, 8600GT's heating has nothing to do with PSU ratings. As for heating, u could try applying AS5 thermal paste on GPU core coupled with good cooler.

12v is rather low. but so long as ur pc isnt shutting off , it should be OK . atx spec says 11.4 to 12.6v is OK. .i suppose ripple matters more in such a situation. .in any case , if u dont plan on upgrading , no point changing anything. .forget that u saw the temp and continue using ur pc as b4 and dont OC it.

this system is now almost 4 yrs old and i donot intend to upgrade any more rather than i will build a complete new box when i canot work on it any longer or it dies.
anyways my gf card has still more than a year warranty left so if it burns i will go to rashi
so i guess i should continue with this system as it is.able to play all the latest games with med settings the day i cannot play any this one goes and whatever is latest i will get that.

thanks everyone for advice and help
