WTB : Pentium D processor (Any Speed)

Its on behalf of my friend. His motherboard doesnt support more than LGA 775 (Pin Less) Pentium D. So dont PM for Core 2 duo or Dual core. 3-6 Months warranty is enough.

Rajiv, LGA775 means compatibility to Dual core processors like 2xxx and 4xxx.
Which mobo you are talking about.

"Does not support more than LGA 775(pin less)" current mobos are LGA775 socket only older ones were 478 socket.
You can get Pentium 4 and Pentium D first hand for your mobo I think may have to do little search.

Motherboard Chipset is "VIA P4M800 PRO". It doesnt support more than Pentium D processor, as per manual. Its more than 2.5 yr old mobo supports only XP.

These days most of the chipsets support old and latest processors. Since the chipset is old it supports only 533/800 MHz processors up to Intel Pentium D.

First hand Pentium D is not available in the market as Better performing Dual Core 2180 is there.

Brand new single core cpu are not manufactured now.

I got Pentium D 820 at home wanted to sell it, but cant do that its in use and home is 2500Km away

besides Pentium D is not single core but dual core only. Pentium D 925 model 3GHz speed was sold alot in the market.

Actually Intel 945G chipset is just tweaked/updated for Windows Vista Aero effect and Pentium D and some Core 2 Duo, DDR2, PCIX-16.

If you have older CPU i.e., P-4 HT, 2.66 GHz, LGA775. Sell this board to local hardware seller and buy Nvida 7050 + 610i chipset based board. Why? Because this board supports CPU form 533 Mhz CPU to latest 1333 Mhz CPU.

If you are a Overclocker then
Asus P5N73-AM = Rs. 2350-2600

You may get minimum for your board and memory = 2 k to 2.5 K (just a wild guess)

Unfortunately, Your motherboard doesnt support Intel Pentium D, Dual Core, Core 2 Duo and new celron.

I have checked the Intel webpage it says no. you can also check. I have already given the link in my previous post.
