BANGALORE: A 23-year-old electronics engineering graduate has been arrested for allegedly faking the electronic signature of Isro chairman K Radhakrishnan and conning 84 college students after promising them jobs in the organization. She had earlier failed an Isro job test.
Shradda Saswathi Jagadeva Mohanti, a BTech from Bhubaneswar's Biju Patnaik College, is believed to have cheated students of three colleges, promised them jobs in Isro and collected Rs 3,000 from each.
"Shradda had met the principals and students of Radhakrishna Institute of Technology, Sushri Institute of Technology and Mahamaya Institute of Technical Science, Bhubaneswar, and promised jobs. She issued through email fake appointment letters to seven students, who knocked on the doors of Isro, Bangalore. Finding the letters forged, Isro complained to us," DCP (north) SN Sidramappa told TOI.
Shradda was already on the radar of Bangalore police. She had represented her college at an Isro event in Mysore.
