Right off the assembly line
I put together a new PC today and formatted 80GB HDD.
The system configuration is as follows - P4 3.0GHZ(HT), Intel 915 motherboard, 80GB SATA, CD Writer, 17'' monitor, 512 DDR Ram, GEFORCE 128MB card.

After booting directly from WIN XP professional edition, I made 3 NTFS partitions in the raw/fresh 80GB HDD and formatted them.

Everything went smoothly. NOW
''C'' drive is my boot partition
''D'' drive is my CD drive ???
''E'' drive is my second partition
''F'' drive is my third partition.

Normally the CD Rom is the drive after the last partition but here it is the second drive in my system.

How do I make my CD drive the last drive ie., ''F'' drive as this is the conventional way. Have I made a mistake in installing the OS the way I have described?

Please help

open Computer Management either by going to Administrative Tools or by right-clicking on My Computer and select Manage.
Now goto: Storage -> Disk Management option, right-click on CD-drive and select Change Drive Letters & paths and change it to G:, in similar way u can safely change ur E: drive to D: and F: drive to E:, and finally change CD-drive to F:.
