windows not shutting down

when i shut down my windows xp everything is fine till da blue screen comes showing "windows is shutting down" but it stays like that only and the system does not turns off...i have been experiencing this problem since 2-3 days but before it was working fine...can someone please tell me how to fix it???

have u installed any Transformation packs and then un-installed them??.. I had experienced da problem some time bak because of that!!

By any chance are you using "RKLauncher"?

Press Ctrl Alt Del
Press Shut Down on the Menu in task manager

press Ctrl
click on turn off (dont release CTRL)
