Windows behavior

In Win XP, I often switch to another window or application in between e.g. say while IE is loading a website which is taking some time, I switch to an excel sheet. Later when the site is loaded completely it again comes to foreground and forces me to loose control of the application I was working, say excel that I was working with.

Is this behavior normal or do I need to set something?

This is a weird problem.

But I think you can prefer 'minimizing' the application (eg. IE when loading a page) and then move on to the other application. Thats the smartass way.
