This is for Windows 98, 2nd version. That is to say, some of the files of this operating system are missed or deleted or corrupted. If one has the Software CD-ROM of this operating system what should be done step by step to do the needful. I understand that there will be an answer for this question in your Forum. But I searched for the correct result, but all ended in vain. Can you please send your reply to this question?

Journeyman
go to start>accesories>system tools> system information
in it under the tools menu choose system file checker (or maybe similar name, i dont remeber coz not used 98 for 2 years), in the system file cheker program you choose for check for missing files option and start the test
the utility s very usefull but it will give you many enteries (those are because of improperly uninstalled files) so just choose to replace the missing 98 files

btw to recover changed/deleted files in Win9x goto
Start>Run

Type sfc and hit enter.

SFC is a System File Checker tool built into windows that will check for any deleted/changed/updated system files. You can choose to recover your deleted system files from it.
