This is my current system

  • AMD Athlon X2 64 6000+
  • Asus M2N68 AM (PCI-Express x16 slot)
  • XFX Geforce 8600GT 256MB DDR3
  • Power Supply 400W

My question is that I want to upgrade
to Palit 9600GT 512MB DDR3 for better graphics
So will this card run on my system with 400W

8600GT is running good no issues
But will 9600GT run on My Asus M2N68 AM(motherboard) or else I need to change my Power supply to 500W.....:eek:hmy:

The card should work properly on your current motherboard .

Now for your 2nd question- Whether 400w is nuf or nt? Dat depends upon how many onboard devices are connected(no of hard disks, drives, pci cards etc.)
400w may be ok and i say again may be ok for your card, but it would be much better if you get a Corsair/Coolermaster 500w SMPS. The current SMPS of 400w may not be able to deliever full power to your components and may lead to later problems. So it's best go for new SMPS as well.
