Wifi router without modem under 1300

Hey guys i want to buy a wifi router for my android phone and laptops.
My internet service provider is mtnl and i am using the internet with its supplied modem. At first I was thinking of getting the router from mtnl itself but someone told me it has a bad range. I have 2 floors in my house and i will be placing the router at first floor but i need internet access at ground floor too.

get TP-LINK without any 2nd thought.TP-LINK products are internationally considered as the best in terms of value for money.

I did some research myself and found out that only tp-link and asus have high gain 5dbi antenna. Both of them seem pretty good but i think tp-link is more popular. As i am new to this and not looking for much hassles please tell me out
of asus and tp-link which brand is more reliable and has better rma and support in india if the device develops a problem after some time.
