I often use internet for downloading purpose & have an D-link 56kb/s internal modem(having an bsnl coonection)

(56kb/s but it is actually shows 46kb/s).
when i download any software ---The download progress dialog box shows
xx kb/mb of xx kb/mb at 2.6 kb/s
(last seen 5.0 kb/s but, normaly shows 1.0 to 3.x)

Last time when i was in my friendhouse with an airtel GPRS sim card (one of my another friend) to access the internet.The airtel tower is not so far from this place.
It shown speed of above 600 kb something. I was thinking to buy an mobile phone to access net for downloading (I hate mobiles ).

After few min. my converted into .

Can you specifically state what do you want to know? Even if you use hindi, it will do.
I am sorry but it is very difficult, for me atleast, to understand your problem.

thats a misunderstanding

when u are using airtel gprs via p.c the speed shown @ the p.c is the phone's max supported speed

if u connect using a normal gprs fone it shows 115kbps
and
if u are using edge/3g phone it shows 384+ kbps

but the actual speed might be 2-8 KBPS ,and thats the speed shown while you are downloading files ....

but still airtel gprs is a lil bit faster that bsnl dialup
