virtual memory or the page file is reserved part of the hard disk
which is for memory swapping operations
this helps in keeping the RAM free for other applications to load
and by default it is 1.5 times the size of ur RAM
and is reserved on the drive where u install the OS
u can even change its size and the place

u can find its properties in
the advanced tab of the system properties
and again go to the advanced tab in the performance options

this is win-xp

virtual memory is everywhrer and it is no where. its beyound the seven seas and inside the core of the earth and at the forepoint of technology....... ok ok cutting the c*ap

its the space alloted by your os on your hard drive. think of it a virtual ram chip. it allows the smooth functioning of your system. you can acces it for xp by right clicking "my computers">properties >advanced tab> settings> advanced tab> vrtual mamory.

for windows 98 its right clicking "my computers">properties >advanced tab> uncheck let windows manage my virtual memory> (might not b exact. really dont remember much about 98. its been a long time.)

MMC is short for multimedia memory card. they are basicaly solid state flash memories used in mobiles, digicams, etc.s they are small rectangular devices about the size of a stamp and the thickness of cardboard.
