the future is OPEN. what is happening now will be replaced by the time you get a job or by the time you start earning some goood money.
so the best thing to do is to have 2-3 options open do what you are best at and at the same time try to master some other field, its a slow process but in the end you will be on a safer side.

that is what i am going to do , i love networking so i am going in that direction but at the same time i need to have one more opening so i think i will do some MBA in networking and then i will learn some thing which is related to networking.

Legen-wait for it-dary!
Dude go with your interests. I'm a 3rd year engg student(coll gonna start in a month) and I'm interested in core low level windows programming. I want to go for a job in that, mostly it will be with AV/Firewall developers, or with M$ itself etc. But since that wouldnt be possible at first, I'm learning .NET technologies (C++, C#, ASP.NET) side-by-side to have an option. You will ALWAYS do better in the field you are interested in. And networking is everywhere, so you wouldnt lose anything. My advice is, learn networking, and at the same time, another thing that seems interesting to you, for having an option. As chicha said, it'll be a slow process, but you'll reap the benefits.

the thing is that things change and when they do all the obsolete methods are of no use.
and all what we see now will be replaced by a better protocols and methods.
every thing changes the service industry will change too.
today network and system engineers are in huge demand, tom there might be a set of programs which will take care of it better than what we can do.

for example 5-10 years back there was telegram ppl thought as there will be growth in population it will prosper but it was replaced by some other technology.

My dad told me to be prepared for a change, we never know from where and in what form it may come.
