u should knw what kind of a file u should download.. like a file which is very popular has very less chances of being infested with a virus... u should look at the size also. . for ex. some software which is about 10mb.. is shown as 50mb.. then there is something fishy about it.. dont download it..
yeah p2p is safe...according to my experience. Been using it since the past 6-7months and never got infected. yeah i agree with champ_rock tht u should know which file to download and how large is it etc. other than that its safe.
I have only Avast home edition and Zonealarm home edition(since the past few days) installed.thats it.
to be on the sfer side..use zone alarm total security suite ..
any way it also depends on which p2p are u using ...never use kaaza..thats full of spyware..u can try bareshare..
P2Ps are generally safe(especially torrents and Gnutella networks). I am using for the last one year without any problem. However, at browsing, there are some sites(like some crack-sites) where you can get infected with spyware. So "Use a good AV,Firewall and Anti-Spyware app" as dIgItaL_BrAt advised.
