Nothing
There is only one way to "Shutdown". Windows can shutdown in only one fashion.

Initiation of shutdown is different .. but it's the same thing

Both are the same. But if u press and hold the power button in your cabinet for more than 5 seconds, your computer will not shutdown properly, but power-down abruptly. By which, I mean that open streams might not be flushed and user specific settings may not be saved.

this does not make any sense, the only reason may be that when u press the cabinet button it kills all the processes immediately.

u can set use of power button for atx cabinet....whether to ask d task, shutdown, standby etc... u can also set it to a proper shutdown wen this button pressed....on the other hand...non atx completely cuts down the power supply in analog way....ie. itsa phase of open circuit....

so its like....atx cabinet is not analog n can take commands fo this button but non-atx cant

cheers

gary4gar,
Go to Display properties->Screen saver tab->Power->Advanced
Here there will be a list box labelled "When I press the power button on my computer". Change it to Hibernate.
But before this, yu must've enabled Hibernation via the 'Hibernation' tab in the same dialog box.
