Paid: ZoneAlarm Pro. Free version is very basic. Comodo is far better than it.

I use tiny personal firewall.. Very light but effective. During startup, xp will show fatal error balloon message. Just ignore it.

Comodo is gud and is highly configurable. It has features like bandwidth metre with application name and limit them individually.
