Websites are not opening....

Hi,

For the last 1 year I am using reliance broadband connection and I am quite happy about the connectivity and connection speed. For the last 3 days i am facing with a problem related with websites.
I am using the Chrome and Mozilla as internet browsers. Not a single websites are opening in the browser window though the downloads through torrents are at their full speed. I have contacted the local support team and when the engineer came, he connected the wire to his laptop. There everything was working fine. But in my desktop I am not able to open the websites. Please help.
I am using Windows 7 and have 6GB of RAM with 500GB HDD.

DNS trouble. Use google DNS
Google Public DNS

What error does it give ? Does page load a small part or keep looking for the page ?

Changing DNS will help in some cases. Also exit utorrent and see. If downloads are at full, it will leave no bandwidth for browsers.

Try reinstalling browser too. Make sure your broswers are allowed by firewall.

use the 8.8.8.8 as dns,please post what security software u are using also try opening in "safe mode with networking" and lastly provide a ss of hosts file u can find it in windows\system32\drivers\etc also check the internet options>connections>lansettings
