Website Developing prob

Dear friends,

Today I bought a 17'' widescreen LCD which has 1440X900 as its native resolution.

The problem is when i am creating websites how should i see that it is seen good at standard 800X600 resolution properly ie; if i turn to 800X600 it still remain widescreen

is there any way

have i made a mistake buying LCD for website designing or there is workaround

Which software you using for desiging.

Anyways I think 800 x 600 is really old setts and most web design softwares take care of resolution issue by default/ [Not a geek but I think they do]
