I dunno about Hitachi! Though i know Sagate and Samsung (yes Samsung too!) are C R A P! Even i herd a lot about Hitachi, havent used it though. I have used Maxtor and Western Digital. Both are good but definatly, WD is better than Maxtor!

Hmm, in that case i would say Hitachi is a better choice! And i can get a Maxtor 80 GB for 2800 here in Delhi! Thats why i suggested! Actually there is not much of a difference in the price of HDDs of diff companies over here!

What makes you say that two of the biggies like Seagate and Samsung are so? Please avoid baseless arguements and be practical. Don't stop others from buying things just because you don't like the brand. Infact, Seagate and Samsung should be preferred if you are not from the metros just in case something happens and you have to rush to the service centers. So Niral, i guess you got your anser, get the one which has a service center close to you.

I agree with you Sourabh! Please! No harm meant. Just want to keep a situation in front of you. Lets suppose you have 2 HDDs ane is offering a 5 year warranty with a service center just next to your house and the other is just offering a 1 year warranty and maybe the service center is not that close either! Would you go for the 5 year warranty drive when u know in 5 years it will break down 50 times!!?? Im telling this from my personal experience and from some of my friend's experiences too! Seagate n Samsung go put very easily. Even in warranty period. What good is warranty if u loose all your data and you have to wait 2 weeks for your drive to get repaired!

Anyway, that is my personal opinion. The guy asked for it, so i gave it! Im not here to preach against Samsung and Seagate! I have a life buddy!

Lol, even if its a bit more for Samsung , stick with SAMSUNG rather than go for Hitachi , which most of the consumers dont use...

Who knows ! one day Hitachi may get busted and then u've to get another 1.

@niral you should go for that hitachi thingy coz it produces less heat..also tel me which has service center near to you ?

try to get the service center first

well you could get both coz you have airy aircase ..as you told...both are good

i recommend hitachi coz it has better life than samsung

also its
Rs. 75 sasta than samsung

thanx Guys !!!

k will keep that in mind !!! But I have heard that Hitachi is also very Good wit 5 yrs warranty !!! And the Heat Comparatively less compared to seagate !!! The reason i asked 4 Between was the the Guy im buying it from is an Whole saler in these 2 companies SO im gtting it Slightly higer Then the Whole sale rate But its still cheaper Compared to other computer guys here !!! DeskStar <---- Name of Hitachi's Desktop Range of HDD's !!!

In my case All the companies are in Indore So in Neway All companies Servicings will take the same amount of time like The guy told me MIN-MAX 15days !!! He's Suggesting me Hitachi Coz he says Hitachi Does not have Hold of much of the market !!! So they say that if a problem come within the 1st year i shall get a NEW HDD !!!

Cheers !!

Cheers !!

hitachi has nicest technologies when it comes to hard drive technologies in these months. Its the first company to have 500 GB hard drive in market. And it proves its technologies.

Samsung on the other end, its 80 GB product (without SATA) had a gr8 problem. I use it and it has been damaged 3 times a year. Highly risky to use.

SATA version may have been improved but make sure u know dat. else why take risk?
