Hi Friends,

I have read similar threads and buying advice thread by Jas but was still confused so creating a new thread to get help from you guys, here goes the questionnaire:

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Generic answers will not work. Be exact and avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Mainly a CPU based on 64bit architecture for SharePoint2010 related development tasks. No Gaming needed.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Around 30k to 35k.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win7 64bit, Win Server 2008 R2

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500 GB would be enough.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes I want to buy a monitor. Anything standard will do.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Please exclude UPS, Speakers

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: 10-15 days max.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Surat, Gujarat, but I can purchase online too.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Would Prefer Intel based PCs

Welcome to TDF.

All you need here in this case is a Good Quad Core with minimum 8GB of Memory. AMD makes value for money quad cores, whereas intels are comparatively in the costlier side.

Does this budget includes your OS also ??
