Want a Mid-Range Gaming PC.. any suggestions

Hi Everyone.

I am upgrading my PC to let it handle the newer graphics-heavy games (like NFS rivals, GTA4, others) as most of them seem to not work for now.

My Budget is around 10K to 13.5K. I will retain the LED monitor, HDD, DVD R/W, cabinet, 2.1 speakers, keyboard, mouse, etc. I think what I need is a better combination of Motherboard, GRaphics card, RAM and processor and I dont want to mess up with wrong frequencies.

What I already have is the following:
Motherboard - an older ATX model from Gigabyte with DDR3 support (sorry but don't remember the exact model)
RAM - 2 modules of Transcend DDR2 totalling to 1333MHz. (I might be getting a good deal for HyperX Blu 4GB, but is there an alternative?)
Processor - Intel Core2Duo - clocked at 3.4GHz (not sure if I really need to change this as the new ones have similar speeds)
Dont have a Graphics Card

Please let me know what can be changed here.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: mid range games like cs 1.7, gta 4 gta 5, fifa 14.. and photosphop cs5

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: under Rs. 10,000

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: no

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: dual os. Windows 7 and windows 8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: I have a 1tb disk, dont need another.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: I wont buy a monitor. I have a samsung 24" hd monitor.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: will be re using monitor, dvd writer, hdd, accessories, cabinet.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans as soon as possible

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I am still using the pc I assembled in 2006. I have then just upgraded a few details.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: mumbai. I will buy wherever I get a better deal.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Someone I know has suggested to change to a 4gb ddr3 RAM and add a 4gb Graphics card. Not sure if only that is required.

your budget is too low for a new pc. mention the exact model of the core 2 duo.i can not find a core 2 duo at 3.4ghz. is it an overclocked one?. 4gb ram is enough for now.
any way, get r7 250x at 7.7k and antec vp450p at 2.6k. when you have got enough money , upgrade the cpu and mobo combo.

If your total budget is 22k then you can get these:

Intel Core i3 4130 -7500,
Gigabyte H81M-S1 -4000,
Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB 1600Mhz -2500,
Sapphire R7 250X 1GB -7500.
TOTAL -21,500.

1. Its more than double of OP's budget
2. A FX 6300 build will be more powerful in the same budget, why not go for it?
