use skype .. *www.skype.com/
very well known software for voice chatting over the net
you need to be connected to internet for this
or else you can try using a small utility created for LAN by a guy in my college.
its called 'quicktools' ... its a client server kind of model and you can conference too.
plus you dont need to be connected to internet for this.
here's the link:: *www.geocities.com/matterlogic/QuickTools.zip
@digen
Skype works inside LAN, its like using Y! messenger to chat inside lan .. you need to connect to its server over the net and then its all P2P connection
i've used it .. im sure it works ..
and yes,
LANTalk.NET is for instant messaging .. not voice chat AFAIK
and LANTalk XP is very popular alternative for 'net send' commands
well i have got an internet connection but rhe software that i need should work directly i mean just between the friends on my lan no connecting to servers n stuff well i dont htink skype works dat way
