source:source to this thread is that it is a part of an email received by me from a trusted friend(she won't lie)it was about vista and its features(vector graphics,one care service & all ) i wish i could put the entire mail here but i have already deleted it.
besides, these restriction are to stop piracy not to cause inconvenience to its users,however we are feeling that this is wrong because we are used to piracy.
i just wanted to share all this with you
before any one of you plans to buy VISTA when released read the following restrictions to users:-
AACS Advanced Access Control System
(stops you playing dvds)
AEC Automatic echo cancellation
(stops you listening to music)
AES Advanced Encryption Standard
(without the original keys your movies/games/music wont play)
APO Output Encryption Audio Processing Object
(same as above but failsafe incase first fails)
COPP Certified Output Protection Protocol
(ever use TV out? well not no more this stops it)
DDI device driver interface
(no clue)
DTCP Digital Transmission Content Protection
(no more downloading and watching tv shows on a pc)
LFSR Linear-Feedback Shift Register
(DRM checking on Registration key before anything works)
HDCP High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection
(wanna download something? has to pass a certificate first)
HFS Hardware Functionality Scan
(scans hardware to see if trusted DRM is turned on if not wont play)
ITA Input Trust Authority
(same as above only disables system)
OMAC One-Key Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code
(fancy way or saying DRM is locked in)
OTA Output Trust Authority
(contents need to be auth'd with content providers server before they play)
PAP Protected Audio Path
(wont play mp3 files that are not protected)
