Seems like at least someone within Microsoft decided that Windows' GUI is not exactly super-productive. :p

Yuck!! Supports just 4 desktops and cannot be quit without logging off due to poor design.

Bleh. *www.otakusoftware.com/ for DeskScape, a very good replacement for that one ^^. Been using it for a long time and it works on xp and vista.

Yeah, there's already one. It's the one from Powertoys. So why make a new one?
and it's not only linux-like, it's also mac-like(spaces). Microsoft loves to copy what's hot now.

@cooldudie, spaces came out just recently with Leopard... XP has had the powertoy for virtual desktop manager for much longer.... And Linux had virtual desktop even before that... So, its Microsoft copied from Linux, and Apple has now copied from Linux/MS...

This article makes so little sense... XP had this long before, so why make it sound like it has just got it? Besides, the strongest point of Windows has been availability of a huge variety of third party software and not integrating all the best features within the OS...

It is available with nvidia control panel as well.

Windows PowerPro looks powerful. Would give it a try. Hope it works on Vista.

I been about 1 1/2 years since leopard came out. And switching is really cool. If you click the application on the dock(open app of course!), spaces will change to where the application is. And you can have up to about 16 spaces. If you press control>left arrow key, spaces will change to the space on the left. Same with right, up and down. I bet the powertoy really can't beat that.

I agree. It is really good to have a lot of 3rd party software that can do this. And Microsoft already made one. So why make it sound so new?
