my old cable became unusable lately so I bought a new vga cable for 90 RS from local market. but the problem it does not showing the recommended resolution (highest for my syncmaster 2033 is 1600x900) besides there are double images 
what's the problem?
and btw after connecting the new cable display does not show the monitor name "syncmaster" instead it displays "generic non pnp monitor"!
