USB Harddisk .. error!!

I have usb harddisk .. today I took it to my frds place to transfer some files, n install NOd32 in his computer..
When I came back & plugged in the HD back to my pc .. its not working properly.. I can access to 1st partition but not the 2nd partition of that HD, infact now the 1st one is also not connecting. Plz help .. how do I correct it, whats the prob ..

try fixmbr ..
but I dont know if its there when windowsxp is running!

.. why its happening
.. if i use it at diff computer is stop functioning
.. & how do I fix this Master boot record??
