Hello,

My roommate lost the USB 2.0 connector for his 1 TB External Hard Drive. The USB 2.0 connector was a Type A to Type B.

Refer to this link in case you're confused :
Amazon.com: USB 2.0 Cable Type A Male to Type B Male 6 ft, Black: Electronics

The 1 TB drive is a Buffalo DriveStation™ Axis - HD-LBU2.
(Products - DriveStation™ Axis - HD-LBU2 | Buffalo Technology)

Now ,we bought a third-party connector for this drive , and while the drive does power on , it's never detected on the PC.

By not detected , I mean Windows 7 doesn't even give that "New Hardware has been found" popup. Is it a problem with the USB connector or the drive itself? The drive does power on mind you, as indicated by it's Green light. We've already replaced the USB connector with a similar one (same brand) and it didn't work.
