Want to buy a TV tuner card for my rig.
For watching TV and recording TV programe.
Pls suggest the best TV tuner card (which one is best internal or USB type card?).

first of all give details like budget,type of connection,monitor etc.if you are going to use usual cable connection then any cheap one will do but quality will be average.if you want high quality(at least dvd resolution) then getting a tv tuner card with component input(not composite input) is must & this is possible only with set top boxes which have component outputs(DTH or digital cable connection).

Yes, we are using a setup box with local connection (RYB cable). want ot buy a good one, so that in future may be I can use in HDMI type. Can't compromise in picture quality
Offcourse budget within 2k. Using Dell 23" LED - U2312HM Monitor
Graphics card: ASUS GTX650Ti
Ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB
MB: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H

I dont have much idea about TV Tuner cards.. but the one I owned was from Pinnacle PC TV stereo..
It was quite okay.. not that great
Avermedia produces the best IMO but costly

capture cards with HDMI inputs are quite expensive and over your 2K budget.

i searched on flipkart but couldn't find any tv tuner which has component input.all have s-video input which is better than vcd but slightly worse than dvd resolution.as for hdmi & componet input forget it since cheapest avermedia HD tv tuner card which has hdmi & component input costs 7838.my suggestion is get any cheap avermedia tv tuner costing ~2000.
