haha, due what you have asked is for mid range computer only.

Correcting your config

1.AMD Athlon 64 3000+ ----------7000

2.Asus A8N-E(Why do you need a onborad gfx when ur buying a seprate gfx card) ------------6500

3.Twinmos 2*512 MB ----2450*2= 4900

4.BIG Geforce 6600GT 128MB Pci-ex(its an overclocked version)-------9200(what you have told is abosolutely wrong man, 6600GT has its own memery and will take awat the load from the CPU)

5.TV Tuner Pinnacle-----2000(you wont get TV tuner in 6600GT, its only available in high end cards like 7800)

6.Onborad LAn available

7. the board has 7.1(or else get a sound blaster value price: NA)

8.Benq DW1640 ----------3000

9.FDD-----300

10.160 SATA ---------4100

11.Look for cabinet which has good space inside and offer a good airflow, see to that it has 2 120mm fans and more is fine.

12. Antec Power supply are the best Get a Smart Power 2 450Watts------4300, orelse settle for Powersafe 500Watts price no idea

13. Get a 19" CRT flat monitor instead of LCD better gaming experience in CRT flat

14.Creative Insipire 5.1 is good-----4500

15.internet pro combo---850

16. Microtech double battery model--2250

pen drive ok

And one more thing, you wont be able to play all the latest games with all eye candy in this rig @ max res. you can play at 1024*768 with eyecandy enabled.

Try to get a 6800GT---20000 or 7800GT---25000 for a future proof computer.

Hope this helps.

neo as you have mentioned 6600GT you can go for it, it comes at 525/1100 vs normal 500/1000 thus its a overclocked version. Also my system is similar to one i hve given it for you above with BIG 6600GT, so get the venice core for 3000+ and overclock it, i hve made 2.475 from 1.8GHZ and its rocking.

Yes you can use 32 bit Xp pro with out any problem and everyone are using only 32 bit Xp pro on their AMD 64 so dot worry.

Try to identify

see this link *img434.imageshack.us/img434/7615/amd5ji7cz.jpg

you can a find 3800+ venice, look out for AA4BP.

for 3000+ it will be ADA3000AA4BP.

Thank you for the advice.... but a question arises (as i have never used amd processor) that what this 3000 and 3200 is all about (venice ..??) and why the L2 cache is so low 256 + 512 Kb....and why are all overclocking the cpu...

which amd will be par with intel 3 Ghz and will msi rs-480m2 is a very stable board like we have intel original boards for intel processors which are much stable than via boards... i search and found out that msi rs480 is a microATX board with very less 3 PCI slots

Will all games and applications run in amd as smoothly as intel ( i am a little scared now since investing almost 12 -15 k on the board cpu unit)

Please reply soon as i wanted to buy the pc on monday morning

i am very confused with the mobo in amd... all are very different and very confusing to remember... here are a list of mobo i am getting from my vendor.. i dont know the detals though......

asus K8v-mx(754) 2950

asus A8ne(939) 7500

asus A8nsli deluxe(939) 10200

asus A8vdelux(939) 6500

msi Rs480(939) 4850

Look pal, AMD 3000+ is equal and some times better than intel P4 3ghz, and also less heat in AMD, Venice is the core name of the revised AMD 64 3000+(939pin), the reason everyone is overclocking because it gives the performance of a costlier processor. Dont go by the clock speed of intel. For Games AMD is the best and it runs all the application smoothly. If you are going to encode/decode movies then intel suits you well, but games AMD. Make one thing clear if you are going to buy a graphics card then you better go with Asus A8N-E, this one solidly stable even when you overclcok the Processor.

Listen the onboard graphics are not always good, those are meant only for very basic gaming, either intel's onboard gfx or ATI's MSI RS480M2 onboard gfx they are meant for very basic gaming. Though ATI perform little better than intel's GMA 900 onboard gfx system.

So if are buying graphics card like 6600GT then go on with A8N-E but it cost only 6500 in chennai i dont know why your delear charge you Rs.1000 more(see www.deltapage.com), if you dont want to buy gfx card and want to settle for onboard then buy MSI RS480M2. If game is main concern then AMD is meant for you, also dont worry all other application will also run smoothly equal to 3Ghz of intel or even better than that.

Hope this helps you :)

Thank you very much divyadbzgt1 for your sugesstion... i think i need a mixture of both gaming and media encoding.. but gaming is my preference..... so here is my configuration for the mobo

AMD 3000 or 3200 939 pin

ASUS A8Ne

2 x 512 mb ddr ram

6600 GT from xfx or gainward or big

and the rest would be fairly easy to chose for me...

1. One important question.. i want to run the computer approx 10-16 hours a day (i mean i keep my pc on at night to download stuff from p2p network.. )so will that be a problem

2. Will additional heat sink is necessary

3. Do i need an antec psu or any psu with 400 watt will do

thank you guys very much

divyadbzgt1

1.Well running your computer 24 hrs for p2p or any any other downloading wont be a problem at all as your Computer wont be at stress at all.

2.AMD processors are already runnig at lower temperature, make sure the room you are using the comp. is well ventilated, also take care you get a good cabinet that has enough airflow to keep your components cool. See to that the Processor temp dont go more than 50 underfull load, in thses case you wont rewuire a seprate heat sink, try to get "Artic Silver 5" Thermal paste and apply inbetween the processor and the default heat sink, this helps you lot in decresing the temperature. It should cost you aound Rs.750+(not sure).

3. If you can buy antec PSU its really well and good for the extreme quality materials they use. You can have a antec Smart power 450W will do(costs around 4k), otherwise try looking for a Powersafe 500W(500w to be on the safer side).

So try to list out your final full config now. I can tell you how it is.

Anyway are you going to overclock? as the 3000+ venice is a best overclcoker.

How much does Powersafe 500Watt cost as buying antec will be too much for me ... i need to spend 2.5 for cabinet and psu... cabinet will be asimple black no crazy designs but solid body.... rest money is for psu

my now proposed config is as follows... tell be ow i fare for a casual gamer and will windows vista aero work on it

Amd 3200 939 pin 10k
asus an8e 7k
2 x 512 transcend ddr 400mhz 4.5k
6600 gt xfx 9.5k
pinnacle tvtuner 2k

cabinet and psu yet to decide but deffinitely 400 watt and more 2.5k

160 sata seagate 4.1k
1.44 mb fdd
benq dvd rw 3k

17 " flat samsung monitor 7.9k
creative 4.1 speakers 2.6k
logitech mouse and kb 1k
microtek ups 1.7k

thats all plus few decorative items and some games cds to spice thing up

Get a Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1 Speaker it really rocks, costs 2800 and for UPS get a Microtek double power Battery for Rs.2200/-. You can get a nice cabinet for Rs.2.5k just see before you buy, try www.zebronics.net, as for Powersafe not much idea how much it will be but you can get it for 2.5k. i think the samsung 17" flat is overpriced you can get Magic Bright model of 17" for around 6.7k or get a viewsonic E70f for Rs.6.6k. Logitech mouse and keyboard will cost you a max of Rs.900/- for me i bought it for Rs.825 last september. See to that youget Benq DW1640 DVD-writer. Well other Things are fine. ATB

You can get a Powersafe 500W for around 2.7k i think or else go for a 450W from powersafe.

Tell me when you get your rig ok.
