going to buy a external portable hdd
size: 1tb
usb: 3 with 2 compatible
so i hav chosen WD my passport from infibeam @ 5508.

1. if u guys hav any better deal n model plz let me know..
2. wats the difference between wd my passport vs my passport essencial?
3. can i install/boot OS on/from it like we do from pendrives ? (atleast linux OS) ?
4. can i store my virtualbox / vmware OS images in it and boot it from VM s/w ?
5. do u guys find or came across any prob with this model (wd my passport) ?
6. how is infibeam? how is their CS and after sale service ?
7. how is WD CS and after sale service in kolkata ?
8. how is buffalo ? they comes cheap..

Congratulations on this fabulous purchase.What are the average read/write speeds of this HDD?Do you have usb 2 or usb 3 on your system?

getting max 25 mbps write speed on usb 2. hav not tried usb3 yet. will update if i get my rig assembled soon.
