guys,
im getting a tab as a present from ma brother,
he asked me for the modl.i was going for new ipad,but it dont have an usb port :-(:-(:-(:-(

so now i need to find an alternative.
i wud like mine to have a usb port,
have any one used ipad before??are there many apps available as in android??
is there any way to get a usb working in an ipad??

hows asus prime for an alternative,pls answer quick.

No Android tablets can compete head to head with an ipad.

They are good, but ipad is a lot better overall...

Maybe in 6 months we will have a Nexus tablet that I may be able to recommend...

But right now, ipad is king...

Transformer Prime is an amazing alternative. If you have Rs 50,000 then it is the best non ipad tablet. Comes with a keyboard dock and around 17 hours of battery life (when keyboard is attached). Also, it comes with latest Android 4.0 so it is the tablet to get. Only major cons are no 3G (only WiFi) and price.

I tested this one and it played almost all movies and songs from my hard disk.

I believe that it is possible to get a miniUSB in the iPad using a camera connection kit (costs extra and needs to be bought from apple). Any specific reason for the USB port?

im gettin ma tab from the states.
who wouldnt want a usb port???
i tried an acer iconia before,it even supported external hdd.so if you have to copy something you dont need to connect ur tab to the pc.

prime seems cool,quadcore processor along with battery backup.

the camera attachments for ipad doent support pendrives above 4 gb,(saw it on youtube.)

how about apps?
are apps available on the net as on android??

If you were happy with something like Iconia,go ahead and buy an Android tab.
Do you know that you can transfer files over wifi also?
And what are you planning to do with a quad core procy?
90% of Android apps can not even use the dual cores properly.

What do you mean by the availability of apps on net?
Do you know of any physical store selling apps?

Get New Ipad for best media consumption experience.
Get Android Tab if productivity is as important as Consumption.

There are hell lot of apps on both Android And Ios stores.Dont worry about that.

now about availability off apps,-i was referring to be able to download apps via torrent as in android.but seems i have to jailbreak the ipad to do so.

both prime n ipad 3 not have an usb port on the tab.but however for asus ,we can buy an External usb adapter.in case of ipad,there is a camera extension kit.but wont support external hdd .

ipad 3 not worth upgrade than ipad 2 except the screen.
The 4X GPU performance used by retina display for its resolution. Also the ipad 3 has heating issues [think about hot countries like INDIA].

Issue with Transformer Prime is lower resolution than Ipad 3 and GPS issues in indoors
