Upgradation Error With Internet Explorer5

Hi Folks

I am trying to Upgradate my Internet Explorer version 5 installed in Windows 98 SE. to Internet Explorer 6 SP1.

I tried upgrading from a old thinkdigit cd and I even tried downloading from the microsoft , both the time the installation will go till end and will give a error saying

"Setup was Unable to Install all the Components, Please close all applications and Try Running Setup Again"

But that time No other application was running,
I Checked the net and was suggested to clean the Temp and Internet Folder , having done the same to result is zero.

I scanned the PC with the Latest Defanitions, Have latest NAV installed.
No Virus Found, just saying to avoid any doubts like I gotthinking some Virus may be blocking the same.

I even applied the Office 2000 Service Pack 1.

But The Internet Explorer say's what So ever it will not Upgrade from 5 to 6.

Any Solution????

well their can b lots of reason... 1st make a full scan of the system for Virus....

now do all the steps suggetsed by Microsoft.... here,
