iam tryin to install UBUNTU came with digit DVD (june 2007)
when ever i select option from the boot menu of LINUX loading kernel appears and my monitur becomes black i know my comp is not restarted nor hanged
this is happening for every option on the BOOt menu of LINUX DVD
but the DVD is not damaged its in great condition help me PLZ

512 ram
80 HDD
on brd GfX

intel mobo

Which motherboard? and Integrated GFX? Also try disabling acpi at the linux boot prompt and try.

How long does it take? I had booted from the DVD and it took more than 5 mins to get to the desktop.
