Can you hear it..??
Hi guys,

My PC shows occassional troubles but the frequency of the problems is
increasing.

a)Either it doesn't care to bootin

or

b)it restarts soon after booting in or connected to network ;

Doesn't care to bootin means we can hear the HDD's whizzing sound and
the specific LED glowing butnothing else works.

At times case occurs where my machine after reaching the desktop in afew
seconds time/or connected to the n/w switches off. Also at the very first screen when autodetecting the hardware now it always shows "F1 to resume" which wasn't the case earlier (it simply boots in)

What would be the trouble? Does climatic conditions effect these?

First, yes, climatic conditions can certainly cause the symptoms you described.

Second, give more details: 1) Your configuration details and OS.
2) When your POST screen tells you to press F1 to continue, it must have given the reason, like not finding a device or that there's a Checksum error. What did it say?

In the meantime you can do either or both of these: 1) Clear the BIOS;
2) Open the side cover of your CPU and expose it to the sun to dry out any moisture inside, especially if you have had a lot of rain recently.

Hi Pimpom ..Here are the details.

After Autodetecting Primary Master and Slave it then detects
3rd Master which is IDE Hard Disk.

Then again while specifying it shows
3rd Master; SAMSUNG SP2504C VT100-50
ULTRA DMA MODE-6, S.M.A.R.T. Capable and Status BAD

Again fianl sentence is
3rd Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD Backup and Replace.

So is there any thing wrong with harddisk? What should I do to correct it.
I did a scandisk which shows few volume errors which i
corrected in Repair Mode using OS (XP-SP2) installation disc.

And yes, it is raining heavily for a few days so that may be a problem; but wish to
know on the above Hard disk error
