Triple boot

My friend has XP & ubuntu installed on his system but he wants to have fedora along with these two.How to do it? He has enough free space on a different partition.

Just install Fedora in that separated space and Grub(Bootloader) will pick the other 2 OS automatically.
No sweat!!

I tried by installing grub both in the mbr one occasion and on the hard drive partition .
But both did not give the desired result.

Thats strange. Ok. Install Fedora Grub in its partition and then edit the grub menu.lst of Ubuntu and enter this in that file

title Fedora
root [b](hd0,6)[/b]
configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst

Change the partition as required and check if it is grub.conf in fedora instead of menu.lst and change accordingly.

Thanks, I did the same thing and it worked...But with one change there is no default permission to edit menu.lst I gave it the necessary permission and it worked.

It always worked for me!!!
What do you mean by "default permission"? You need root to edit menu.lst file. I hope you havent change its persmission to local user.
