transferring data from laptop to PC

i am having a laptop, i want to transfer some data(around 5 to 6 GB) from my laptop to PC

Can anyone please tell me how to do this using LAN cable??

Use a cross cable to connect your Laptop and PC.
Then provide IP Addresses in the same range (like 10.0.0.1 for Laptop and 10.0.0.2 for PC, Subnet Mask - 255.0.0.0 and Gateway should be default)

by crossover cable do u mean a simple LAN cable???


after setting up my ip how will i share...i mean will the connected pc will be shown up in network neighbourhood????

yes he means LAN cable(RJ-45)
After setting this up
right click on the folder/drive u wnt to share go to the sharing tab then share this folder on the network put share name if u wnt
then ur done
