Touchpad & Keyboard Arrow Keys Going Haywire

Soumyajit

Novice
Hi all,
I am facing this problem on a Lenovo G570 with Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit), i3 2310M, 3 GB RAM.
The touchpad is running haywire every once in a while and then the cursor is hanging. Pressing the Windows button on the keyboard is again restoring the touchpad.
The problem with the arrow keys on the keypad is that every once in a while, when i am using the arrow keys, the cursor is automatically shifting to the left most cell (of excel sheet) or to the first picture when i am viewing pictures.
The laptop has an updated e-scan anti virus installed.
Cant understand whether this is a software issue or a hardware one.
Help on this bizarre problem requested.
Regards

I don't use a laptop, so can't really comment on touchpad issue.
However, in excel, the leftmost cell is selected if you press Home or Ctrl + Left Arrow key. You must be by accident pressing Ctrl key while using arrow key. As simple as that, and in which case it's "human" issue. :p
Or your arrow keys are being confused with Home key in which case it can be the hardware fault.
