Tips for speeding windows vista

Hi to all!

My system config :
->P4 2.0 ghz
->768 MB ram(64 MB shared by graphics)
->Via unichrome pro igp(onboard)

I installed windows vista enterprise edition on pc.But vista is running very slow.I tried to watch a vcd & it played like a slideshow.Even it takes a lot of time to boot.
Plz give me tips to speed up Vista.

Approx. all options in my XP tutorial will work in Vista too but the location of settings might differ:

Can Some Vista Geek Tell me the Steps to Get Hibernate Feature in Vista..I know that Hibernate is been Replaced by SLEEP feature in Vista but I have seen in some pictures that Hibernate can be activated..I just Need the XP Style of Hibernating a PC..

Nope.. ..I just played too much with Power Settings and Still I am unable to Get this option..Currently using Windows Vista Ultimate Edition(Trial Only)

Give following command at Command prompt:

powercfg -h ON

restart the system and it should be enabled.

I tried that and it Still it doesn't Enable Hibernation? For ur info I used that command with Administrator privileges

Should I use Classic Start Menu and then try Pressing Shift Key which i havent Tried..Currently using Ubuntu..I will Test it this way & Report back

Edit Again:
The Option of using Shift key was possible only in XP..Any other options Folks?

Update:
Finally..I just did find the way..Here are the Steps:

1.Open Control panel.
2.Go to Sytem and Maintainence.
3.Click power options.
4.Click Change Plan Settings.
5.Click Change Advanced Power Settings
6.Disable "Allow Hybrid Sleep " by changing the Setting to OFF
