Hello guys,

whenever I am plugging any usb device, a popup comes up showing "This device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi-speed usb 2.0"

I have tried :-
- Updating the chipset drivers
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers from device manager

but still facing the same problem. :(

The motherboard is Asus M4A78LT-M LE and it has all USB 2.0 ports.

Only last 2 USB root hubs are working at Hi-Speed, rest are working at Full-speed. (USB 1.1 I guess.)

Undead!!!
How many USB Ports Do you have in working condition.
I mean how many of them are at Full Speed right now and how many of them are at Hi-Speed.???
Are you facing the problem with front panel USB I/O or Back or both.???

The cabinet has 4 ports at front and 4 at back. (All are in working condition.)
Out of the 7 USB Root Hubs shown in the image, only last 2 are working at Hi-Speed.
And yes, I am facing problem with front as well as back USB ports.

try speeds with linux live cd/usb.also instead of relying on device manager insert usb device in each port & check speed by copy pasting a large size video file(say 700mb avi etc).

I am partially having the same problem faced by you, most generic Cabinet have front usb port which are not really USB 2.0 but rather USB 1.1 ports ( like in my intex cabinet) but in my case when i plug in to the back USB port it runs at USB 2.0 speed. Moreover, the back ports are part of the Motherboard which should run at Hi-speed if set at the bios to run @ hi-speed but the front ports are just extended port the speed depends on the speed supported by the usb dongle (as i said most budget generic cabinets have usb 1.1 front port.)

If this error happen when inserting in cabinet usb connection.. then buy a usb hub should solve the problem.
