The Vishwaroopam Controversy in TN

This is getting worse by the day.

Why is it that when the same movie is running successfully every where else, the TN govt wants to ban it?
Yes, I believe it is the govt that is dead set against Kamal rather than some communal party.

The Govt meanwhile has used this heat to open a Hospital that was supposed to be the New Secretariat. Source

Yes. If some one like Kamal can be harassed to the limit of pushing him to leave the state, what about us?

Honestly, I am feeling insecure for a past few years (under both parties). They seem not to be concerned about the common man the very least bit. If they put some of the effort they are putting to stall Kamal, to constructive purposes, they certainly could do a lot of difference.

double edged sword here for Kamal -

1) Gain for all the publicity through controversy..
2) Loss due to all the video leaks of the movie already due to the issue raised.

Having said that, he is put into a shell now and all he can do from here is agree to all the terms that these so called "protesters" (aka benefiters) put forth. And I think Kamal is ready for scene editing and even a note in the credits.

Unwanted yet unavoidable, due to his early plans of launching the movie on silverscreen. Infact, that backfired when distributors said they wont take the movie at all :)

From what I collect from the reviews, Vishwaroopam is an average film. IIRC, Kamal Haasan has spent 100 crores on it. There was no way it could've made any profit under normal circumstances.

I really don't care about the movie, but the way this Government is handling the issue. There are numerous Muslim parties in India and only two or three raised this issue. There was no need for this issue to be blown to this scale.

Movie is excellent, please don't go by someone else words.

@lywyre
It's a shame that TN government is acting like this. May be the TV broadcasting this has bothered them so much.

out of 100 crore 50 crore went for creating this stupid controversy so that it garners more audience.

The movie totally sucked. Script, time jumps, editing, dialogue delivery, cinematography were all average at best (most of the time poor).
Positives - BGM, Rahul Bose's acting (even though he was under-utilized) and action scenes (for an Indian film).

There's no way Mr.Hassan will recover the 100 crores he's spent on this movie, unless of-course this publicity gimmick of his works. Save your money folks!
