the sound is not in front jack

i am using windows 7.
i have problem to hear the sound from the front jack.
It appears as blue when i check the sound tab > recording > line in > properties > and here i see the jack as blue one.
in spite of green one.
what can i do to solve this problem

i am having problem to upload the pic of that printed screen.

Is the port of the jack connected to the motherboard of the computer? Check that before checking the software side

sound tab > recording > line in > properties

line in is used for recording not for outputting sound.check sound tab-->playback tab.also use audio manufacturer utility instead of windows one like realtek hd audio manager in control panel for more detailed info.use free imagehosting sites like imageshack,photobucket,tinypic etc to post images.

before that follow @thetechfreak suggestion first.

In most cases, front jack won't be connected. You can ask a technician to do that for you.
