Task Manager and cmd problems

WHenever I try to access the Task Manager in my WIn XP , it closes as suddenly as it opens. Same with Command Prompt. I am the administrator, dunno why this is happening?

Could be due to virus... Go to safe mode and try it... If it works, most possibly then virus is culprit... Run Virus Check in safe mode... Also check for adwares, etc..

It may be a virus or a spyware, but it can also be due to errors on your hard drive. Do a chkdsk -p and then do as sakumar says.

Don't use Windows under Administrator account always. You should use Administrator account only when installing
software. Create other accounts, and make them 'limited accounts'. This way your Windows is protected from Viruses,
and rogue softwares to some extent. Looks like your System is infected by a Virus. Use any good antivirus software
to fix the problem first.
