i have a p3,700MHZ, (RAM 128) System running with XP SP1.
The performance is ok not that slow.(but not so fast as well,ok)
The computer keeps on being attacked by some virus every time i log in to the computer.
i have AV(Macfee,AVG),firewall, spybot S&D So may be updating from SP1 TO SP2 may solve some of my problem
any way my question is
Does SP1 and SP2 uses same resources or does the system recommendation for SP1 and SP2 same..or SP2 need higher Pro and RAM..(Space is not a problem for now)

So can i upgrade to SP2 getting same performance that i am getting now or performance will degrade..?

what can i do...?

Next question,
Will adding RAM only mak my computer faster if i stick with the same processor..
if i add another 128 MB RAM will that speed up mu computer ...(to some extent)
or i have to upgrade both RAM AND Processor

Thanks,
Saha

SP2 will lower the performance a little but u can regain most of it by a little tweaking of unwanted services...

adding up ram will surely speed up the comp though not by the way a proccy will do, it will speed up the applications running and about 20%~ faster comp cordin to me...

by the way what kind is unwanted services
i am running with minimum program as possible as far i know
i think it adds only 20 performance then may be i must upgrade processor as well
actually its working as workstation...but should not be too slow..
thanks
by the what do u mean by the autopatcher...(from pm)

do you mean that i can just download some patches rather than upgrading or installing SP2.
do any other expert have any idea about this auto pacther.

This SP2 ,does n't it also fixes some security holes...?
