Sysmtem freezes in startup for few seconds

Hello guys,

I am running new installment of windows xp sp2. Unfortunately it hangs at startup for 5-10 seconds. Also it hangs for same interval when I right click on desktop.

I never had this kind problem, so any help will be highly appreciated.

I am not sure of this problem but anyway check if your RAM is working well

how much ram do you have?
you may try to clean the system with ccleaner

I too face the same problem. I think it is because I have CIS installed and it gets initialized during startup which makes the computer unresponsive for a few seconds. I have also scanned my PC for virus but didn't get any, so I don't think it's a virus problem.

Check the startup and services tab(click on hide all microsoft services) and check which programs gets initialized during startup. If you have doubts over a program then you can untick it.
