1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Mainly World of Warcraft raiding, Watching HD movies, General Home use

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 25-30k ,might be able to stretch a bit but would prefer not to.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Undecided (am a complete newbie regarding overclocking and would conisder it if advised, but would need to read up before doing any)

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows 7 ultimate 62 bit

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: A minimum of 250gb, have 2 1tb external HDDs

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No, I have a Samsung Syncmaster NC190 19" monitor which i will be using for now. (will upgrade when budget permits)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Monitor

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: within next few weeks

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be done by an assembler from local shop

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Hyderabad, Yes willing to buy online

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: This is mainly for World of Warcraft raiding so keeping that in mind suggestions would be welcome.
Currently I am looking at

Here is your suggestion:-
AMD FX 4100 (3.6 GHz, 4.2 Ghz Turbo Boost, 4 MB L2, 8 MB L3) @ 6.2K
MSI 970A-G46 @ 5.5K
G-Skill RipjawX 1600 MHz 4GB DDR3 @ 1.5K
WD 500 GB SATA HDD @ 3.6K
Corsair CMPSU-500CXV2UK @ 3.7K
Generic Mouse & Keyboard @ 0.6K
Generic Big Cabinet w/o SMPS @ 0.8K
MSI HD 7770 1GB GDDR5 @ 8.2K

The suggestion I have given is very much balanced. Since you have a 19" display, probably the resolution is 1440X900 and on that resolution HD 7770 is more than capable of driving the demanding games. Regarding Processor and Motherboard, I have suggested the AMD solution because of the unlocked processor which can be overclocked and a very feature rich Motherboard with superb build quality.

The only Intel config possible on that range is i3 2120 @ 7.2K + Gigabyte B75 @ 4.2K Motherboard but sadly they won't offer any overclocking feature. Also the motherboard is not as feature rich as the AMD counterpart. But gaming performance as well as Power efficiency will be slightly higher in the Intel config

Sorry for the delay but internet/power has been iffy lately with floods here in AP. Thankyou Cilus for your quick reply and advice.

I was looking at 3rd gen i3 specifically Buy Intel Core i3-3220 3.30 Ghz Processor in Mumbai India as it seems to be better than the AMD FX 4100 from what I have been reading up on tom's hardware. But now I really want the AMD trinity series A10 5100k, but cant find any data as to when it will be available in India, if anyone has an idea I would be very grateful. If it wont be long then I would rather wait and grab that with a relevant MoBo than commiting to the i3-3220.
