hi everyone,
having an APC BI850SINE home ups connected to EXIDE IN1500PLUS inverter plus lead acid battery. bought 2.5 years back, serving we three people well upto last week.
Now when power goes off, ups backs for 2-3 minutes and gets switched off. tried filling battery with distilled water still same problem.
APC tech guy was called up, who said main unit is ok but battery should be replaced. gave quotation for a tubular battery 150ah for about 14000 rupees. Also wants to take back old battery for 800 to 1000 rupees.
Today surprisingly the ups gives almost adequate backup during power cut.
should I change battery as advised or retain the same? Is the old battery goes for such a cheap price?
