Suggest me some components under 50K

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming. I'd be running, you know, Crysis (modded like hell), Skyrim (modded like hell), BF3, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, GTAV and all heavy games.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 50K. That's it. Anything under it would be even better.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Err... not much. Just about .5 GHz more than the stock, if at all that even helps. So cheap-arse cooling device please.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 64-bit.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: I already have 1 500GB & 1 320GB. So I need just another 500GB. No, I'm not gonna replace, I'll be adding.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yeah, 22" @ 1080p. I have Acer AL1916W, it's 19" at 1440x900.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: KB, Mouse, Speakers, Optical Drive, RAM, PSU and cabby.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: March.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I have.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: Bangalore. Don't matter if locally or from online, I just need the best bang-for-buck.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: This not another config thread. I've never come across a only-gaming-PC-for-under-50K thread. I won't be doing anything other than gaming, seriously. So I don't mind whether it's Intel or AMD as long as there's no big FPS difference. And err... is CM 600W Extreme PSU enough for the config you guys are suggesting? I don't care about cable management. I just want some money-saving things [I've come to know that money's very dear]. I also heard that RAM and motherboard prices will be going up soon and also that AMD are gonna be sticking with HD7xxx series for the rest of this year. IDK, NVIDIA maybe?

I already have this:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD5850
MB: MSI 870A-G54
Cabby: CM 430 Elite

If the CPU and RAM are enough, I'd be pouring all my dough to GPU.

TL;DR

Please help me. It's been three years since I last upgraded.

Your current config is in fact a good one. I am assuming that you do have a good PSU as you're using HD 5850.Here is the components I am going to suggest:-

Another 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Ram @ 1.3K
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler @ 2.2K and push the CPU to 3.8 to 4 GHz. (Don't disable Cool 'n Quiet, CPU speed will be automatically dropped when not in use to reduce Power consumption)
Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-X OC with Boost @ 22K or Sapphire HD 7970 Dual Fan OC @ 28.5K

Darn, that's fast. Thank you.

BTW, I have CM 600W Extreme PSU. What about a GTX 670 chipset at around the same price as the HD 7970?

i5 3450 (11000)
Sapphire HD7950 vapour-x (21000)
Dell 22" LED ST2220M (8400)
Another G.Skill ripjawsX 1333 MHz 4 GB (1500)
msi Z77MA-G45 (7800)

total: 49700

Ditch the CM psu. Opt for a corsair tx650v2 or a gs600, whichever fits your budget.

7970 out performs a 670. Larger performance gap for a slightly extra cost. Plus the OCing potential is awesome in the amd.

Maybe your pc is not old enough for such an upgrade..... considered waiting for 2-3 months before such a spend or is your pc not treating you well??

i am saying so as i play on a phenom II and 9800 card in a cafe and it runs games like max payne 3 nicely( not sure about settings)

also if you want to spend so urgently, just get a 670 for 3d and ram and save all other funds

get a active 3d monitor and nvidia 3d glasses in 2-3 months( will cost around 25-27k)

your gaming exprience will change.....

There is no need for a complete upgrade right now, especially with the Intel Config. Just get a good Graphics Card, Ram and a good PSU and you are okay to go. For overclocking, a 2K CPU cooler will do.

So I'll buy the CPU cooler suggested by Cilus and can I overclock my CPU to like 3.8-4 GHz? I'm also thinking of buying two GTX 660Ti's.... good or bad?

Take the suggested cpu cooler.

I dont think that board has support for sli, only crossfire. Confirm this.
Opt for two HD7870s, cheaper and effective.

NVIDIAGeek , the Motherboard you're having does have two PCI-E 2.0 X16 slots, one running at full X16 speed and another @ X4 speed. So SLI is not possible with it as SLI requires minimum of X8-X8 speed from two X16 slots. Crossfire is possible but if you plug any high end cards llike HD 7870 at the X4 slot, their is a chance of Bottleneck. Better stick with one high end GPU instead.

Any good motherboard supporting SLI and my proccy? How much power would it require for two GTX 660Tis? Is 850W PSU enough?

Why wont you just aim for 3d gaming??It is quite possible at your budget....

or else 850 watts is enough just get a good mobo...

Stick with that suggestion.
Take a 7970 or 7950. Either is sufficient for a single 1080p monitor.

Any reason why? All the games coming nowadays are having SLI or CFX support from day one.... or they'll release a day one patch.

3D? That's a gimmick [now it's 4K]. And my eyes burn from watching 3D movies at the theatres. 2D is much better.

You want to purchase a proc, mobo so that you can do an sli ? :-?
IMO, the first post by Cilus was the best one, and cheaper too.
This rig can last some more time.

750w is more than enough for a 660ti sli.
