Well since 1055t has six processing cores, it has a bit advantage in multithreaded tasks like video encoding etc. Games still utilize no more than 4 cores and i5 760 is faster owing to its great efficiency.
1055t is a great proccy though at its price. Its nearly 2k cheaper than i5 760 and you can pair it with a cheaper mobo as well owing to its 95 watt tdp. You can also check the newly launched 1065t which should be priced similarly to older 1055t.
If you want intel, then try sandybridge as its blazing fast.
You can opt anyone between the giga and asus. THE ASUS one is an atx board and has better layout than the the gigabyte board. So adding double slot gpu's later is never a problem in an ATX board.
