Suggest Laptop for College.

Right off the assembly line
Hi guys i am joining my college (PESIT) next week and doing B.E in IT in banaglore.I want to buy a laptop basically for gaming,coding,animation and stuff and expect that it stands good at least for two years before becoming completely outdated.

Currently i am in dilemma because there are two laptops which i have shortlisted and both are from lenovo and both are lenovo y 500 just different model , one of which is discontinued.

The first one .. Lenovo Ideapad Y500 (59-379647) Laptop (3rd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph)

The laptop has a 768p screen which is a let own but it has gt 750m graphic card.Its avavilable on flipkart for near around 68000 but on snapdeal .

The second one

is with 1080p with gt650m but has an ultrabay option with which i can use external graphic (cost around 12000 extra) .

The plus point of second one is that it has full hd screen but has a inferior graphic card(at least i think so) and the first one has a lower res screen and a better graphic .Both are clocked at 2.2 ghz so that processor is same.

The main question is gt750m better than gt650m.Since i can affor an sli card(Where can i buy it?)and can i sli card in 650m model.

Why don't you import y510p from Us. Got everything you want latest processor, sli graphics etc etc.

Yup, you can put a SLI card in the ultrabay... you can find it online easily.but the thing is that you should wait for the next gen haswell processors....
And yes an SLI650 should beat 750m easily

You can have sli setup even in gt 750m model. If u are into gaming, get a better graphic card. As technology upgrades, it's better to stick with latest stuff when deciding to buy. You can use external tv/monitor to play at full hd. Although gt 750m will play game fine for next 3 years in hd res.

Even i want to wait but there is no estimated date when they are coming in this series..do you have any idea about it?
