i too have been contemplating changing my bb connection for a while now as i'm completely frustrated with bsnl.I require an unlimited download scheme with a minimum download speed of 512 kbps and have a monthly budget of around Rs 600.I just checked the above link and was quite impressed by Reliance's postpaid tariffs-will the thunder 549 plan suit my requirements? Is it a wired broadband connection and is reliance a better ISP than bsnl?

don't expect too much from Reliance.they may have better plans but they are no match to airtel service quality & in many areas their service quality is similar to bsnl.it is better to ask someone in the area already using Reliance broadband(it is wired connection) for review.

Quite so,i have heard from many people that reliance is a deceitful organization.Sadly however,i don't know anyone in my area who has reliance broadband.I live in a rural area where most people basically use slow gprs based connections from their cell phones and the ones who require faster internet access inevitably go for BSNL as no other bb service is available here.

Can airtel be considered more reliable than bsnl and reliance?Do they offer any kind of unlimited downloading schemes for less than Rs 600/month?

I myself am an Airtel bb user. yes their service is great, but i'm not a fan of their FUP. I got a 2 mbps plan @ 1099 with limit of 15 Gb and then speed reduced to 512 kbps(earlier was 256 kbps:-x). My limit always got over 10-15 days before the bill period with very little to average downloading and more than average uses by 3 people.
Although the reliance deal is tempting no doubt, like what whitestar_999 said, confirm the service in your area first. 4 diff. people living near me have reliance bb 2 mbps plan, and they are satisfied with it.

The lowest bb scheme of airtel is Rs 549 i think, with 5 or 6 Gb limit. thereafter either the speed reduces or you are charged for extra usage (not sure which one). They don't have any scheme without FUP like reliance provides
